Nicolo Zaniolo to Galatasaray for €22 million deal sealed, boosting Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk’s confidence

Galatasaray’s head coach, Okan Buruk, praised Nicolo Zaniolo and said that the Turkish club still wants to sign the free agent who used to play for Roma.

Galatasaray have scheduled a new round of talks with AS Roma to sign Nicol Zaniolo. It will take place today as negotiations on a permanent agreement, a €22 million fee with add-ons, continue.

Nicolò Zaniolo already gave his ‘green light’ to join Galatasaray with his personal terms 100% agreed.

The Giallorossi and the Super League club are presently in the process of discussing a contract for the 23-year-old player, and the Super League club is providing a loan agreement with an option to purchase the player that is valued at about €22 million.

Roma would want this number to be a bit higher, and the two teams will continue talking today to come to some kind of understanding on how to proceed.

Buruk talked about Zaniolo and how likely it was that Roma would sign him in the next few days after Galatasaray beat Trabzonspor 2-1. In that game, both former Serie A players, Dries Mertens, and Mauro Icardi scored for their teams.

“Zaniolo is a player of the highest calibre. Even if we are unsure of the specifics of his connection with Roma, he is a player who we would want to have on the team.

However, if you asked me, “Would you want to see him on the team?” I would say yes. Naturally, I’d be delighted to see him at this place.

After then, Buruk divulged the information that he has been keeping a careful check on Zaniolo since his team, Istanbul Basaksehir, competed against Roma in the Europa League in the 2019–20 season. At the time, Buruk was the head coach of Istanbul Basaksehir.

Galatasaray and Roma are scheduled to resume documentation later.

Galatasaray is optimistic that an agreement will be reached since both parties have already scheduled flights and medical examinations.
