Reiss Nelson contacted by Italian clubs which are willing to sign him. Reiss Nelson, an Arsenal winger, has recently come to the attention of AC Milan, but he is about to sign a new four-year contract with them.
Despite genuine interest in the winger, whose contract expires in June, Fabrizio Romano, an Italian transfer expert, reported that Nelson is likely to sign a new contract at the Emirates that will keep him with the team until 2027.
“Understand Arsenal’s current offering to Reiss Nelson is a long-term contract with an expiration date of June 2027 and an option for an additional season.
“The player decides. Nelson tweeted on May 23 that he had been contacted by English, Italian, and French teams about a prospective free transfer. On Tuesday,” he added the following:
“A four-year agreement is extremely close, with an option for one additional season. Arsenal and Reiss Nelson are only a matter of time away.
Nelson has dropped behind Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and most recently Leandro Trossard in the Emirates’ winger hierarchy, which is a bit of a surprise development for Arsenal.
The teams’ ongoing interest in Barcelona wide receiver Nelson’s tenure at the club seemed to be coming to an end with Raphinha, but Mikel Arteta has convinced him that Nelson will play a significant role in his plans beginning with the 2019–2020 season.
Nelson scored the winning goal in the 97th minute when Arsenal defeated Bournemouth 3-2 in March, although he has only played 201 minutes in the Premier League this year, making all 11 of his appearances as a substitute.
Although Rafa Leao has already extended his contract at the San Siro until 2028, the emphasis on recruiting a new winger has lessened recently. Milan was still well ahead in discussions with Nelson among the aforementioned Italian interests.
“Reiss Nelson was approached by Italian, French and English clubs but his priority has always been Arsenal: the agreement is imminent.
“New long-term deal, almost agreed two weeks ago — it’s about final details then Nelson will sign until June 2027 plus option included,” Romano posted.
