On Friday night, the early leaders of Ligue One, Monaco, will be making a trip to Nantes in hopes of continuing their strong start to the league campaign. However, Nantes has had a difficult beginning to their Ligue One journey, suffering consecutive losses to Toulouse and Lille, conceding at least two goals in each of these defeats.
This poor start may not come as a surprise, considering Nantes’ struggles in the previous season, where they only managed to win one out of their last 17 games in the French top flight.

Unfortunately for Nantes, their recent home form in Ligue One has not been impressive either, with just one victory in their past nine home games. Furthermore, they have lost three out of their last four league matches on their home soil.
On the other hand, Monaco has had a promising start to the new Ligue One season, securing wins against both Clermont and Strasbourg in their league matches.

They managed to score three and four goals in these victories, which were much needed after ending last season’s Ligue One campaign with three consecutive defeats.
Monaco’s recent matches have been filled with goals, as over 2.5 goals have been scored in ten out of their last 12 games in the French top flight.
However, if Monaco wishes to remain near the top of the table, they must improve their away form in Ligue One. Currently, they have only won two out of their last six league games on their travels.
