Chelsea was willing to pay the record-equaling sum for a full-back to sign Cucurella from Brighton on a six-year contract, whereas Manchester City balked at the cost.

The Spain international, who worked with Potter before on the South Coast, was brought in to give Ben Chilwell, who has been hurt, competition at left-back and left wing-back. However, 18-year-old Lewis Hall has also been used in both positions.

Raheem Sterling, age 28; Manchester City; £47.5 million

Thomas Tuchel referred to Sterling, who joined Chelsea on a five-year deal with a one-year option, as Chelsea’s “number one priority” when he was the first male signing of the Todd Boehly era.

Koulibaly, who had been a longtime desire for several Premier League teams, signed a four-year deal with Chelsea and was considered a ready-made replacement for center backs Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, who both departed the team for free transfers in the summer. He has been a top pick for most of the season.

Arsenal free agent Omari Hutchinson (19)

Hutchinson, a highly regarded offensive midfielder, spent his early years playing for Chelsea before attending the Arsenal academy for seven years. In the summer, he moved back to west London, and in January, against Manchester City, Potter gave him his senior debut.

Age 19 (Carney Chukwuemeka), £20 million, Aston Villa

Boehly described Fofana as “one of Europe’s most exciting talents.”

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 33 years old, Barcelona, £10.3 million

Chelsea lured Aubameyang back to the Premier League from Barcelona on Deadline Day in the hopes that he would be an immediate option up front. Aubameyang left Arsenal on a free transfer in January 2022.

Although his earlier association with Tuchel from their time together at Borussia Dortmund may have been appealing, Aubameyang hasn’t been able to match his previous level of productivity.

At the conclusion of Zakaria’s loan period, Chelsea will have the option to purchase him. The Swiss international was brought in after Chelsea had a £43 million deal for Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez rejected in the last week of the summer transfer window.

The player had just joined the Italian team in January 2022 and had already made 11 Serie A appearances. Before the World Cup, Zakaria only played twice. However, because Chelsea has suffered midfield injuries in recent weeks, Zakaria has played more.

Joao Felix, a 23-year-old loanee from Atletico Madrid

Joao Felix, a striker from Atletico Madrid, was added to Chelsea’s roster in January as part of a £9.69 million loan deal that will keep him with the Blues until the conclusion of the year.

Felix, who reportedly has a tense relationship with Diego Simeone, the manager of Atletico Madrid, has five goals and three assists in all competitions this season. Chelsea is hoping he can improve their underwhelming offensive production.

Graham Potter must choose between six January additions for his teams in the Premier League and Champions League this year.

Mykhailo Mudryk, 22, of Shakhtar Donetsk, worth £88.5 million.

In the competition to recruit the highly regarded Ukrainian international, the Blues edged out Arsenal. Before the 22-year-old signed an incredible eight-and-a-half-year contract at Stamford Bridge, they reached an agreement for £88.5 million with Shakhtar.
